The air intake is so crazy loud. I did the muffler trick with PVC and it makes it much quieter. But it's still crazy loud sucking and slurping noise all the time. Is this a known issue with the skimmer? Any fixes out there?

try adjusting the hole size of the air muffler to make it as quiet as possible. You might have to make the hole larger or add another hole. Or make the hole smaller by partially covering the hole

I don't know why the PVC muffler is but people used to make a simple silencer out of a film canister and two pieces of tubing. Most skimmers today use a nicer version of that.

Same thing as th pvc muffler. 2"cap with a hole in for the air tubing and short piece of pvc and another 2" cap with tubing out. Still loud. Very loud. Maybe I'll try a pill bottle.
