good luck. I love the galaxia coral but seen sweepers about 6 inches off a 1 inch frag. It was destroying a couple of corals. Scary stuff

Ya, it's unfortunate. It was one of the first corals I bought. I remember about the sweepers but never really took thought on it. Now that im placing SPS all at the top of the rock where the galaxy is, its not worth $100's I have spent on sps....

The only thing I can say is my galaxy is 3 x 3 and I have not seen 1 sweeper. Is that normal? Im assuming it will come any time

If finds or senses a corals game on and dead coral.

They shoot out sweeper tentacles when they need to. When they sense a coral. It's game on and out come the sweepers and the coral they sting dies. They will kill just about any coral out there.

just a pic I downloaded from the internet. The sweepers are clear and can be a little difficult to see

Eek!

I’m carving away actually was able to make a frag out of it going to finish the other half during the water change this should’ve been my first approach . :)

Decent growth on the acro behind it in 3 weeks!

Thanks! You remember what it looked like 3 weeks ago? ha I don't..

I added new T5's.. It seems like things are taking off.

Compare the original pic you posted until now lol

You could use bone cutters and make multiple frags of it. You can cut it by as little as one head. There's actually some really nice galexia out there. I've had more then 1 non reefer friend point it out as their favorite and some corals I've spent more than hundreds on lol.

Anyway when your done cutting it away, get some 2 part reef epoxy make a pancake of it and lightly cover the remainder. A few weeks later you can literally peel it off like it was never there. Done it many times. Save what epoxy you peel up too. It's great to use on frag plugs because once frags grow out you can easily cut it up into more frags!

Galaxia is removed. Frags are made!

When I sell the frags it will come with a warning. Aggressive coral ;)
