I got back into reefing 6 months ago with a Red Sea G2 300. I quickly outgrew it and decided to upgrade to a UNS R150. I purchased the tank from TSA, and have been waiting for a free weekend to finally make the switch. This weekend the kids were away and I sent my wife to the spa.

Equipment:
UNS R150
Hydros(2x XP8, Wave Engine, X2, X3, X3)
3x Reefi Uno 2.1 lights
Reef Octopus Elite 200 Skimmer
Varios 6 Return Pump
Geo 618 CARX
4x MP40s
2x OctoPulse
Reef Factory Smart Roller M
AquaWiz Alk Monitor
DC Buddy
Top Lid

The tank has been sitting in my storage space since delivery in April. I opened the box and everything looked good. It wasn't until we removed the styrofoam to move it and discovered the damage.

It appears as though a fork lift must have caught it as the strip of wood on bottom of the pallet was missing. This side of the tank was in the middle facing the stand, very well hidden under foam. Yes, I feel like an idiot for not catching this earlier. It was Friday and I was unable to reach TSA, or UNS. With RI Reef Squad showing up to help with the swap I decided to fill the crack with epoxy and pray to the glass gods.

So I used Epoxy to fill the chip. The chip appears to be in a less stressed area but I am no expert. Seals appear fine, and it’s holding water.

I heard back from UNS and they are offering a replacement tank at $2000 with shipping. Ouch.

Following up to see progress!

Just ordered R150 now for myself. How is it going? You mentioned 4xMP40 - I was thinking to have 2?

I’m loving it. Tank is great, I would say if there is any negative it is the lack of room below the tank. I have setup some loops so I can place all the equipment in the basement.
My Straton X’s just arrived. I’ll be setting them up this weekend.

Wow, make sure you check it for damage right away. My tank was chipped under the styrofoam packaging. We didn’t see it until we went to install months later.
