Garibaldi Damsels

I have long thought of Garibaldis as stunning fish. Also I have always understood them to be more temperate than what most of us keep our tanks at. I have had a couple retailers tell me that they could thrive in my tank. Also I know by nature they are very territorial. Anybody have any long term success with these fish in temps around 75-76?

I wouldn’t try one, they might tolerate water temps in that range for a short time(summer months), like in their natural environment, but long term, no. When I work in the business, they’d be available occasionally, I wouldn’t order them. With Schiller on your tank, no problem

15 inch damsel, think tank maintenance would be easier in the tank with shark and lion fish above. Just imagining the nibble size of simply putting my hand in the water lol.

Ouch .... meanest fish I ever had was a 3” three-stripe .... even meaner than my Sohal which was pure evil.

are those pics of it on display at a public aquarium? i'm surprised it's in there with a lionfish, maybe ask them what they keep their temps at?

i'd have to echo the thoughts above, though. probably best in a tank in the mid 60s and they get really big. a rotund foot long damsel kept in temps above their natural preference? what could go wrong :p

It was actually in the tank with the lookdowns and two giant morays. The lions were another tank.
