I put the 6500k and the actinics next to each other. I don't know that it matters really, but that is what I do.

Okay so I am thinking from the front: b-6500k-a-b-b-a-6500k-b or should I do b-b-6500k-a-6500k-a-b-b

Found an online store selling "giesemann midday 6000k" at 40% discount (Norwegian store)
After some quick googling, they seem like discontinued bulbs now replaced by the "giesemann tropic, 6500k" in the current t5 giesemann lineup

Anyone have experience with the older "midday"?

FWIW:

Just received 2x "Giesemann Midday". jda and Bpb's replies below were spot on IMO. I do prefer the current combo VS 50-50 b+/c+. Time will tell if the corals feel the same :D
I'll have the wife take a fts this weekend showing the overall ambient color.

Would the overall ambiant look of
2x6500k, 2xPureAct, 4xBlue+
...be whiter than 4xBlue+ and 4xCoral+ ?
Different, but close. Probably the same "whiteness" and "pop" but maybe a bit less "windexy." This is so hard to describe with words.
Agree it will look pretty similar from a kelvin standpoint but I think it would look more pleasing. Your reds and purples will render better. I’m not overly fond of the coral+ bulb

I run (2) Giesemann Tropics. I get better growth with them.

I grew some Red Mangroves awhile back and they grew like weeds under all daylight bulbs.

can anyone comment on their thoughts pro/con for the above bulb? I was told by an experienced reefer that it’s a solid bulb that helps bring out the reds in corals.
But it seems to yellow/Orange out corals in the back of the tank, where the bulb is at. I am thinking I will switch it out earlier than expected due to this.

I have an 8 bulb ati sunpower: use 6 for daytime, 2 for dawn/dusk. 6 bulb setup is: Fiji pink, purple, 3 blue plus, and ge 6500k. Too yellow/white for me and will swap one out for a blue plus here soon to get closer to 20k. The bulbs are not setup in the order I mentioned them as a FYI.

Cheers!
Sorry I know this is old. But I just used a super actinic, 6500, true actinic and a blue plus and my tanks never looked better

Like jda said... The 65K will bring the natural pigments to life in the corals. Dormant pigments will develop again under the GE65K. Also I noticed that ATI True Actinic does that to some extent.
Can't go wrong with most T5 combos. Just adapt the system to the new bulbs properly and everything is great!
