I have an encrusting monti that is begining to get out of hand. Already killed an acro and is starting to tick off the acans. Overall it's just growing way too fast. I have some epoxy to cover it up but first I'd like to remove the rock and cut off as much as I can to avoid just covering 90% of the rock with putty. How long would it be safe to remove this rock from water considering there are 2 acan colonies and a rock flower anemone attached to it? I'm a little nervous about this whole process so any alternative suggestions would be much appreciated.

I’ve tilted at that particular windmill in the past. Have no clue what too long might be, but what I did was to do a water change and used the old tank water to keep the corals wet while I took a hammer and screwdriver to the out of control superman monti’s. I kept a Blue Oregon and a couple other acros out of the tank for about 15 minutes at least. Polyps were out again the next day.
