Geo calcium reactor help cr818

I got the reactor today and excited to set it up. I have been reading the instructions. I have a peristaltic pump that I intend to use in a pull configuration. I read that this goes on the “out” port. My question is does anything go on the in port? The co2 seems to be fed into the bubble counter area. I am just a little confused to if there is anything that goes into the in port. If not do I block it with something? Appreciate the help guys!
