Hello fellow aquarists,

After months of planning and anticipation, I'm thrilled to announce the commencement of my Waterbox 330.7 build!
This thread will document each process step, from initial setup with an ultimate goal of having a thriving aquatic ecosystem.
I invite you all to join me on this journey, share your insights, and perhaps draw inspiration for your projects, which I did @Raptor72 and a few other members with a similar tank.

Shoutout to JK-Fish (Randolph, NJ) I contacted several large fish stores to help move the tank from my garage into my house, including one that advertised a maintenance department. Still, they all said the tank was too much of a liability—strange?
On the other hand, JK-Fish had no issues and handled the move like true professionals.
They also helped with plumbing and rockscaping my tank at a fair price.
Great team, highly recommend!

Current Setup:
  • Tank: WaterBox Reef LX 330.7 (Black) from @SaltwaterAq
  • Aquascape Theme: Modified rockwall with arches and crevices for fish to swim
  • Filtration System: Reefmat 1200 Fleece Roller, Refugium, Reef Octobus Regal 200 INT
  • Lighting: Powered by 3 X Radion Blue G6's,4 X AI Blades 39 inches (3 grow, 1 blade glow), Neptune GRO, UV Sterlizer
  • Inhabitants: Tangs, Wrasses, Damsels, Clownfish, Clams, Snails, and Crabs
  • Coral: SPS Heavy, Chalices, Torches, Zoas
  • Flow: 4 MP60's, 2 Nero 5, with a Vectra M2 (main) Vectra S2 for frag tank return
  • Plumbing: Standard out of the box, with frag tank plumbed directly to main tank
  • Sandbed: Textured black ABS sheet, Barebottom
  • Electrical: Dedicated 20 AMP GFI Breaker- This is critical for a tank drawing this much power to be on its own breaker. Tank tripped the basement a few times, so needed this

The tank is currently cycling. I added some Fritz TurboStart—smells awful, but I’ve heard it works well!

I also introduced a chromis and a few clownfish to help kickstart the process. Most of the rock came from a well-established 90-gallon tank running for over six years. This Marineland tank was built like a brickhouse and did a great job! Ended up giving it to a local reefer for free to help others do something great with that tank.

While we wait, here are a few pictures of my old 90 gallon Marineland that I broke down, end of an era for me but happy to be starting fresh! A few evolutions, lots of learnings and mistakes, but the SPS bug hit hard and is the inspiration of this tank.

Congrats. The tank is a beast. I've never paid anyone to move anything but I hired movers to get mine in and onto the stand. I set mine up about a year ago.
Would you happen to have a list of everything needed to install the reefmat? I would really like to install one in my 330.7

Following…..

I may go with this tank and also interested to see how you plumbed the reef mat. I have not seen this tank in person but the fact the MP60s look like MP10, just speak on the size of it.

Good luck!

Looking good. I just came across your thread. Take your time with the install. Everything is so much easier to do when it’s empty and not running.

Following along.

That's for sure ( @Raptor72 ); the moment you put even a nano fish in a tank, the pressure is on. Keeping something alive begins right then. ;)

Following this build.

Hey, it's maturing well, but I think it needs a bit longer. I’ve got a lot of fish in this tank, so the tank and chemistry are still being worked out!

I still have some minor hair algae and Cyno algae. Phosphates are at 0.07ppm with NOPox dosing daily.

Using CyanoClean to help with this while the main tank stabilizes. I’ve filled the frag tank with SPS frags.

Yeah, the guys who moved it had suction cups, it’s a heavy tank!

So hear me out: why put my frags into this frag tank first? Well, I have lost too many frags to either not being glued on properly or Mr. Snail knocking the whole thing over. Search and rescue operations in this large of a tank have a low sucess rate to recover the frag in time. Losing a $200- $300 frag can be extremly frustrating.

It helps me begin setting up the frag tank and monitor each frag for issues.
Once these frags grow out, I will cut a small piece and glue it into my main.

More teasers with frag tank and iPhone pics. Getting a real camera shortly.

Over 100 + sps growing, cleaning off the main display of tank pics to come.

Currently battling cyano and aiptasia in main tanks. Afraid to use red slime removal and using cynao clean to combat it. Used red slime one time in another tank and lost a few nice acros.
