What surprised me is that they had FOUR!?!? i thought 2 died....so they got more i guess...

Thats a cool pic of the sea otter.

Thanks, the keeper was feeding him and telling him to do all these tricks and such. Their like dogs, they can give a paw and roll over, but this picture she just pointed at the glass and he stuck his face on it for a min...:hammer:

yes, 2 died and they did get 2 more.

i cant even IMAGINE how crowded it is there during the summer. i went on december 30, figuring it wouldn't be that crowded.......WRONG....lol

school was out, so all the kids were there. i definitely want to go back but it will have to be when it isn't a school holiday. i felt so rushed and it was so noisy with all the kids.

btw.......did you do the behind the scenes tour? it was WAY AWESOME!! esspecially seeing the lagoon above the reef tank. coolest thing ive ever seen.

To be honest it wasnt that crowded at all, pretty chill day.

No i didnt have to save up my pennies for next time....:)

The big display reef was kinda dissapointing...

i thought it was pretty cool. but the lagoon above the reef tank blew me away...

i wonder if they are having trouble keeping corals alive in it. i know i saw alot of smaller frags and such that looked like they were dying. a couple of big caps and stags that were dead....etc.

maybe they dont have enough light......it seemed kinda dark...

My husband and I have talked about catching Spirit air and going up for a weekend sometime. The Tampa Bay aquarium isn't bad either. The best aquarium I've ever been to was in Osaka, Japan.

I saw the show on tv for the Georgia aquarium and it looks really nice. I think it must be hard for large aquariums to keep reef tanks because of water quality, etc and maybe they can't afford to have someone that has expertise in just reef tanks. Although any of us would like to volunteer I imagine. lol

That's like the Nature Conservancy and Mote Marine labs in FL has been working on growing coral frags to renew the reefs in the Keys. But they showed pics of these frag tanks at Mote Marine and they looked awful and only had a few frags per tank. lol Maybe they have a lot of good scientists, but not as much common sense know how that us growers have. ;]

One day would like to make it to the Waikiki aquarium. They're supposed to be amazing.
