I was out of the hobby during that stretch. It was a thing in 2008 from what I recall.
Status update-
I have the fish in a 10g QT, SG/temp matched. I have a heater and air pump/stone going in there. I added a powerhead for some flow but it seems like a lot for a small tank. I will get him into a 20G long tonight.
Should I add prime to it?
How fast can I raise SG?
I've got some fish coming from cultured reef and they recommend drip acclimation. I've never done it but will based on the sellers recommendations.
Do you have an HOB filter for the 20 long? I’d use one, along with the powerhead and the air stone. If it were me, I’d buy a bottle of bio spira as well. $15- $20 is worth it for an expensive fish.Status update-

Got it, thanks. So maybe .001 every 12 hours.Raising the salinity is the most stressful to the fish so it must be done very slowly, no more than 0.002 sp gravity units max per day.
He came in at 1.010 so I've got a long way to go to 1.025.I always do 0.001 every two to three days. Its very stressful on fish, and you have a sensitive fish.
What salinity did he come in at?
If you are not QT (which is a terrible idea) then yes drip acclimate is for dumping fish right into DT. IF you are properly QT drip acclimation is pointless, just match the QT to the salinity and dump the fish in.
I can get a bottle later today - the hospital tank I have set up has a HOB with seeded media. I also monitor ammonia on it with a salifert kit. Right on. I mean, the fish has been through a month of QT with prazi and other meds, I feel pretty confident about it.Be very diligent about watching for diseases when your salinity gets closer to 1.020.
