I have a piece of rockwork that stands higher than the other parts and has grown a patch of GHA on it. Manual removal only works so much because the base of the GHA is down in the crevices where I cant pinch it off and suck it out. I don't want to do a tank blackout only for this patch so I thought of only blocking the light to the GHA. What I am envisioning is something that would stretch over the rock like a winter hat fits on your head. Check out my rendering below.

My question is what material would be reef safe that could be made, sewn or stretched into a hat like shape and placed over this GHA to block the light?

Interesting idea. off the top of my head a couple of ideas, cut the wrist off a rubber glove, or a balloon cut the neck off. i think both would be reef safe for a while. The glove might make for an interesting conversation piece.

could 3D print something to cover! Like the urchin hats.

Thank you! I had thought a balloon might work, but I like the glove idea much more!

I’m trying the gloves. I’ll report back in a few days with the results
