GHL profilux 3, level sensor not working

As the titel says, my optical level sensor seems to have stopped working.
If I change settings to 'inverted', it does kick on so as far as I understand it, it seems to register being under submerged all the time.

Questions is, if it can be cleaned in any special way or if it is broken and needs to replaced?

Exactly. Its used for ATO.
When in normal setup, it doesn't turn on the socket as it should, when out of water.
I tried wiping it, and it looked like that was the issue, but moments later, still not working.

No. But if I change it to 'inverted' (turn on when under water), socket turns on.
So it seems to register it is always submerged.

Seams to be a sensor issue for you. My P4 has an issue external to the sensor. I use an optical sensor for low level alarm, it's set as inverted. When out of water it does not alarm (most of the time), even if I unplug the sensor from the P4.

I think so. Tried a good cleaning, but it isn't really reliable so going to replace it. Had a spare float switch to do the job for now.

@ingchr1 - I would agree with you that it seems to be a sensor issue.

If it was working they just stopped I would lean towards the sensor going bad especially since you cleaned it and it is doing the same thing.

How old is the sensor?

Not sure, actually. Everything works fine with the flow switch, so must be the sensor.
