Hi,

There are essentially two versions of the HM Digital Controllers (fancy TDS meters) one with a relay 'output' and one with a variable (4 to 20 mA I think) current output.

Has anybody used a HM Digital Controller in conjunction with a Profilux 4, preferably without an additional ADIN card, if so how?

I was thinking it would be possible to use the relay output controller option and wire it to a Profilux Level port such that when the TDS exceeds the set point the relay closes and the Profilux would sense that as a level sensor closing, which could be used to trigger an alarm or in Profilux Programmable Logic.

But maybe that's being overly optimistic? Would a mA based output be a better option? The HM digital controllers aren't cheap, but GHL ADIN cards are serious money which I really don't want to spend if I can get a simple alarm about TDS levels using a Level Sensor!

Thanks for your input..

Mark

You can use the relay version and level port. The relay will be your "floater"

Say you use level 2 indicator. If you connect this way - it could be difficult to know which level index you have connected to. A tip is to open the sensor menu

short the pair of wires you will connect to the relay a number of times. The sensor that changes from blue to nothing when you alternately short the circuit is the sensor you should use. Let's say level 5 changes state. Leave inverted or not for the moment

Go back to Overview/state Select a control circuit - in my example I select control circuit 2 Operation mode = leakage detection. Max on 1 sek (alarm will go on after 1 sec - if you chose 0 it will always be off) reset automatically means that when the relay open - its normal again. And sensor 5.

If your alarm goes on without the relay active - go back to the sensor meny and change sensor 5 ( in this case) to be inverted.

You can use the function auto top off in the same way too
