So I got my PLM-WifiLan card the other day, and got around to installing it yesterday. I can not get it to work. I am using a known good port on my switch and a known good patch cable, but there is no activity lights on the expansion card or on my switch and I can only connect to it over Wifi. To be honest I don't know if it is using the new wifi module or the old one. Has anyone else got this to work?

Have you change here? Did not found these settings on the web interface - but I have not installed the card yet

Yes, I followed the directions and updated the profilux to 7.44 before installing the wifilan. I also enabled the lan in the communications tab.

Being that it is the weekend no one at GHL is going to answer until tomorrow, so I was looking to see if anyone else has had problems.

Wrong assumption, even if it's not guaranteed, there is weekend support when possible. And if this is not the case, your ticket will be processed more quickly at the beginning of the week, because the ticket creation date will be older.

I still don't see a ticket open on your behalf regarding this problem and as indicated it's best to have the problem handled via the ticket system, so this will be my last answer here regarding this particular problem.

Was the card installed directly in the ProfiLux? It is not possible to use it in an Expansion Box.

Has the ProfiLux been restarted since then?

The card appears in the device card list on the System page?

Hello,

I don't see how I'm not kind, I probably should have added smileys in my reply, sorry I didn't mean to sound unpleasant.
I was simply saying that, on the contrary, - as far as possible - , there's also support at weekends, and that it was inaccurate to think that there wouldn't be.
If I wasn't concerned by the fact that a user was having trouble with his GHL product, I wouldn't have bothered replying here on a Sunday.
The problem with this card must be diagnosed by technical support, it's strange to think that the problem is general and ask if other customers have a card that doesn't work.

Besides, still no ticket has yet been created.

Yes, there is a ticket now
If possible let us know how it works out…
I am about to receive the card and plan to attempt the installation sometime next week, or once I am in the mood to go through the upgrade process 🙃 … using Apple hardware…

I just install my card on my test P4- It works like a charm.

One thing I like was that both WiFi and LAN can be active the same time. I had hope that this also meant redundancy - if the LAN connection went down - it should directly switch to WiFi for myGHL. This should mean that if I had the WiFi on a 4/5G connection and the LAN on my fibre - if my fiber get down - it should communicate with MyGHL via WiFi and 4/5G instead.

I got it to work once when I removed the network cable but I haven't been able to repeat this behavior when I removed the cable later.

But I had no problem with the installation

As an update. The original problem of the card not connecting with my switch with no activity lights fixed itself. I can currently ping the IP address successfully, but can't reach my profilux through GCC still.

Got it to work earlier. I guess that I forgot to save a change in GCC and then didn't look carefully enough at my IP address.

There is one very strange behaviour with GCC. If you have add or change a local webbadress in the meny "administration! you need to shout down GCC and restart it again in order to have the changes to work. This "bug" has been there forever.

I did not know about this. I think that is where my problem started from.

I tun into some problem after I had installed the card. The LAN connection worked flawless but the WiFi module did not work. Every time I try to access my test P4 trough the new WiFi connection - it shout down and myGHL connection trough my LAN connection become very slow. It was not either possible to connect with TCP/IP and GCC.

Its solved now - with help of the team at GHL - and probably it was my router that messed it up. I closed all internet connections (MyGHL and NTP) configured the card to only WiFi. Took the IP adress I got from my router and configure static IP on the P4 with my router as primary DNS. In the router I configure DHCP to manually always give my P4 this static IP address. No it works the way I want - my Internet connection (myGHL) is now normally from a public address - my router is not involved. My WiFi connection is locally in my network and a private address. If my LAN connection going down - my WiFi will connect to MyGHL and I can get an 5G router in the future as a reserv if my fiber is going down

That is basically how I set mine up also with static IP address' for both the WiFi and Lan connections.

I managed to update my P4 with the latest Firmware and the Wifilan card. The Wifi access seems to be consistent now vs. before.
No idea how easy the future updates will be, the Wifi portion seems to be working. No idea about the LAN, there is a button:

I was able to update the P4 firmware using my old Intel based Mac Pro with Parallels and Win 10pro. Using my M based Mac with Parallels and Win11 does not work.
I also tried to update my Profilux Mini Wifi with the latest Firmware and unfortunately that doesn’t seem to work with Parallels.
