I believe to use the Wifilan card itself, your P4 needs to be 7.43 or higher, but if you want to be able to update your P4 through the card I believe it has to 7.47 or 7.48

Does this card need to be installed in the P4 with firmware 7.43 or does it just need to be 7.43 or higher ?

From the manual

1. Use the latest GHL Control Center to update your ProfiLux 4/4e to firmware version 7.43 or higher.
2. Power cycle the device (disconnect and reconnect power).
3. Wait approx. 1 minute – the controller will create an internal backup of the current WiFi settings.
4. Power off the controller again.5. Insert the PLM-WiFiLAN expansion card into a free slot.
6. Power on the controller – it will detect the new card and automatically restore the WiFi settings from the internal backup.
7. After another minute, the device is fully operational with WiFi and LAN access using your existing network configuration.

I´ll think you are right.

I have tested the WiFi/LAN card in my spare P4 for a while now and it seems to work well. I have done a FW update through the LAN and it works well.

However - when I have tried to update the WiFi firmware - it has not worked the way I wanted. No matter - how many times I try to update the WiFi firmware with the classic link - it still shows the old FW in the network window (in my case 7601)

When I update the WiFi FW on my main P4 - I succeeded to install the 7605 FW with help of the classic link

I was not able to update the web interface higher than 3.33.2 on either of them

When I prepare this answer - I find this

A complete new way to update the network module

It shows up that GHL use a new module for the WiFi for GHL doser 3/ Maxi doser 3 and PLM- WiFiLan card (ESP32) instead for the old ESP8266

I download the FW bin and filesystems bin for ESP32. Connect my LAN cable, disable the WiFi card and open the internal webserver through my LAN port. I was not sure what should happen - hence the disable of the WiFi module on the WiFiLAN card just for safety. I open the network window and run the guide for file transfer

Install first the downloaded FW bin from my hard disk - and voila - My WiFi FW became 7607 instead for 7601

I also install the downloaded filesystem and got the latest web interface 3.34.3

My main computer - without WiFi LAN card still have WiFi FW 7605 and webinterface 3.33.2 and are updated the old way. I was hesitating to do the update the new way - but whatever.....

One warning

I discover today that when I upload the filesystem (because in the new model you can´t upload the web interface only) all my uploaded data files to the Dynamic nominal value for my temp controller disappear and I had to load it again. If you use the Dynamic nominal value function - be sure that you have acces to your file and can reupload it

I wonder if that will happen to other things also.

Nope This files is stored as a part in the web servers filesystem as I understand it. When you replace the filesystem od the WiFi module - you erase the local files for your dynamic nominal value files too
