Thinking of picking up a 48" version of one of these. Anyone using these out there? If so what are your thoughts? I am assuming there are 4 power cords is this correct?

Let me know before I blow $1200!

One of the best lights available today. I have one and love it. I spent thousands of dollars on other light systems and was never happy until I got the Spectra. Obviously there are tons of T5 MH fixtures out there but this is the only one that actually looks good.

I did add some blue XHO reefbrites to mine for night viewing but that's obviously not required.

How does it do with heat, and how many power cords does it have?

3 cords. The heat is honestly not bad at all, I dont use a chiller. but I do have a fan that when my tank reaches 79 it turns on and blows across the waters surface normalizing the temp. my tank never hits 80.

I owned the infinity on my 48" tank and loved it. If I could I would buy a spectra as I like the single ended bulb better. The light is built like a tank. Very heavy duty. Paint job is compared to a brand new car.
