Gigantea or haddoni

Hoping someone could help me out here I did ask the question 6 months back wend she was only 2in, in that time she been growing like crazy, easy at 8 to 9 inches now. But am not an anemone kinda person and a bit confused, could anyone help me out here so I know what to expect in future from this nem?

No need for a new tank, just stop feeding it and it should stay about the same size or may even shrink a bit.

Agreed, looks like Haddoni. I have 2 in a 40b and neither has grown in months. I may feed them a small piece of shrimp every month, but otherwise they get all they need from the lights.

No feeding , very little growth, unless he snatch one of your fish. :)

respectfully, i’m not familiar with gigantea or haddoni anemones but quite curious.

— do haddoni get pretty huge?
— does minimal feeding help control their size? (both types?)
— which one has the more potent sting??

IME, both get to about the same size and both are fish eater

OrionN is a great source for questions like this. He is the most knowledgable anemone expert I know of. I knoe that Haddoni can get close to 3' under ideal conditions, though feeding definitely influences this.

I have not had a gig, but Haddoni's are incredibly sticky and can quickly kill and eat fish.

LA has some in the Divers Den for good prices. They are not brightly colored, but I still think they are nice. Also AquaSD often has them, but they tend to sell fast!

i’ve often admired the ones on DD but even with a 180G mixed reef set-up with reefbrite LEDs & 6-bulb T5 set-up, i’m quite happy for now admiring them in others tanks. :)

Thank you, so would you say haddoni also? Even though the oral disc is not complete and the under side is tan instead of the usual black. Cryptodendrum Is another that I suspect of. Most haddonis I see the tentacles are all uniform near the mouth. Am I overthinking this

He got some beautiful specimens in is tank in it, to my knowledge there’s 3 anemones that are very sticky, gigantea (short tentacle), haddoni and Cryptodendrum.

But most haddonis I see the tentacles are uniform all the way to the mouth, in mine I can see several lines around the mouth that don’t have tentacles just wondering if that brings it to a different species also shes a healthy anemone definitely not bleached and the underside has always been of a tan colour instead of the usual dark almost black colour.
