Gigantea taking a stroll. What gives?

Hello, I have had this Gigantea in my 300 gallon for about a year now and it has never moved from the red circle in the picture but overnight it has moved to the top of the overflow making me wonder whats up with this thing. I doubt that the lighting is the issue i am using 3 of the Radion Xr30 Gen 5 Pros

IMO, circulation is the problem. They can tolerate low flow, but not happily tolerate it. Here is the flow, IME, keep them happy and stay put. Below is the video of my Gigantea which is in the best of condition. He is seeking more flow thus ended at the overflow box. Put him back in the middle a little away from the wall and put a Vortex on him.

@OrionN So should i move him from this spot or let him sit under the returns? My 2nd MP40 broke in February and i am still waiting on it to be repaired and now i only have 1 mp40 running, so that explains why it decided to move.

If it does not cause obstruction and has no possibility to cause obstruction the leave him be until you get your PH fix up. You can move him then.

@OrionN Okay, in moving forward i want to put him in a higher flow area, if i create a tall island of rocks in the middle of the tank will he stay on top of it?
I have never tried to put a carpet intentionally in the rockwork because they have always went and burried their foot in the sand for me.

Gigantea stay on the rock for me. I got picture somewhere of a Gigantea and a Magnifica that stay on the same rock for years. Gigantea like to stay on the side of the rock while Magnifica stay on the top.
