Well after months of worrying that my gigas wasn’t growing I think I’ve finally been able to make him happy. Only took 2 tanks and 3 light fixtures for him to start showing growth. Literally had no white on the shell for months. Tough to guage the scale in the picture but that white band is about 3/8-1/2 inch wide. He’s got a ways to go to catch up to some of the others but I’m just happy that he seems happy now

That’s awesome, congrats! Happy you cracked the code so to speak.

You can see from my pic I have 1 that grows almost twice as fast as the other just inches apart. The smaller one kept getting knocked over was the only difference.

This is 2 months of growth

7 and 1/2 months. The shell is now about 5 inches and the clam close to 5 1/2 inches open. The bowl is 5 1/2 inches wide. Also, the clam is coloring up very nice. It is developing blue-green edge and beautiful spots!!!

Updated pics. Gigas showing great color (for a Gigas) & holding it's place against the Derasa.

Added a light colored Hippo earlier this week. Can't get a good pic, but hopefully this shows the subtle stripes & blue dots (about 2" TL)

& last pic is just because they happened to be there when I took the clam pics. We are big on fostering/adopting. One of my Pits with one of my Beagles- life is good.

It’s a lot prettier now than when they were small. How big is that? And how long did you have it? Lol al I have is a big lowly derasa and want to get a gigas but I’m afraid I won’t have the nutrient levels to support one

Had it since 11/2019. It was about 2.5 inches. Now, today, it is 6 inches.

Sorry, Looking at my pictures. I got the Gigas on 7/12/2019
