I accidentally killed a large Gigas while the tank was cycling, I am regretful. I will repent by purchasing a new Gigas and participating in this thread. Wonder if I can hit 12" by a single year?

What's the starting size?

Whoops, hit reply by accident, sorry.

I guess that will hit 8 inches in a year and 12 in two years.

Anyone gotten different color biota gigas?

One is advertised as biota blue gigas. One is just biota.

Curious if theres a big difference inside tank with some blue light

Blue light dulls the color of clams, it's better to view/keep them in a more natural/daylight spectrum.

right. my tank goes through the cycle of lights. I'm just curious if the yellow color on these gigas pop inside the tank. my 2 gigas seem to be on the blueish side inside tank light, even with white light. I'd love a yellow gigas but only if it's truely yellowish inside the tank.

sucks when seller won't show actual photo of clam. Biota sales said it's very yellow for a picture

i saw previous post of very yellow looking gigas. those are pure white light. curious how they look when there's some blue light

Under daylight it should be yellow.

Still growing. I had to empty my tank for repairs this summer and just got the guy back in a month ago. He was so heavy I think I pulled a muscle moving him.

Excited to add some small 2” Gigas clams to the collection. I will be doing monthly weights and measurement tracking under only LED and under a 6500k halide.

These are the two big boys I have under 6500k halide.
