What kind of par are yours getting? Mine doesn't seem to be getting the same level of growth. May try to steal that floating box idea to get it higher in the tank. I'm having success with a Deresa but the Gigas doesn't seem to have much in the way of new shell growth.

Thanks.

Not sure if you're referring to me, but on my raft, I measured close to 300 on the AI Prime. This raft was only set up a week ago, I noticed that growth was very slow on the sand (150 uMol) and the Gigas was stretching for light.

Not quite doubled in size but getting close. Maybe 75%. 300 par.

My two Gigas is about 4 inches. That is the mantle size. The shell size is a little less. About 3.5.

Minh you should post your pictures, they have grown a bunch since the last time I saw them. Yours looks a lot fatter than mine also.

Here you go Alton.
The gigas are about 4 inches. The bucket is 8 inches diameter and the coral discs are nominally 2 inches, actual size is about 1 7/8 inches. Of my two Gigas, one is more orange and the other is more green. I did not continue to feed them phytoplankton. The Glycine that the Phyto frozen in really turn my skimmer crazy and is a huge source of carbon for my tank and give it a lot of problem with nutrient, so it was a no go.

Here is mine now and pic back to mid july when i purchased it. Sitting on same old shell in same location.

Almost at the 2 month mark, I did not see this growth until about one month in. Thanks to having free saltwater from my job, doing 50 percent weekly water changes made the Gigas explode in growth.

About a cm or so of shell growth in a month. In this tank, I literally throw powdered foods in and rely on the CUC to avoid algae issues. Without the crazy CUC, the tank would be a lawn in a week at most.

I got nutrient better manage. Not anywhere as much algae but the down side to it is the Gigas growth sorta slow down. So are the growth of the Derasa and Maxima. However my SPS is exploding in growth. Clams do need more nutrient than SPS.
