While not a fan of recreating man-made refuse in aquariums, I do believe people have different tastes and definitely should set their tanks up in whatever way pleases them. It's one thing to say "I don't get it", or "not my taste" but, in the end, whatever floats... or sinks... your boat.

Not usual to see contrariness in the posts; dissenting opinions can be a good thing. Frankly, I consider the idea to be just way too much work. Little bottles empty of liquor work fine for me.
<< Personally, I DVR the reruns of Oprah. >> : ))
I like the work! There’s nothing else to do so making bottles gives me something fun and creative to do :)

Eh, I dropped a dragon head in mine. I like themes, mine just happens to be dragons.

That's pretty cool. I was looking for the rest of it. Looks like it just died there.

It’s still work in progress, my next tank will be a Poseidon/Greek ruins theme. I am just introducing a few corals to the system.
I used to dive a lot around the Island of Crete and around Athens, so I have a few ideas.

A few corals added.

So, Iv'e got my first two bottles! The first is an antique Portuguese wine bottle, the second is an avacado oil bottle. Both need to be cleaned heavily, I'll post pictures when that gets done.
Looking forward to see how they turn out.

I'm sure with the right tank size, OK ocean you might get away with it...
Tbh always been a dream to be rich af and have a entire wall of glass that lines up with sea floor then you go diving and Aquascape the “tank” and propagate native corals and algae’s:)

Can y’all post pics of the finished product, bottles in reef encrusted or started? Curious to see how it looks.
Found one for you. Take a look
@Paul B work is the best! If I have a fraction of his talent when I'm his youthful age I'll be a happy camper! Here are my best efforts to replicate his bottle idea...since I have a bare bottom tank I use the bottles to house tube nems and feather dusters.

My Wife & I collect older Bottles & sometimes I grab one's that look cool so that's why I mentioned it.
I would have to agree old bottles not to be broken. This one I have seen many in customers homes.
D'usse Cognac Vsop is the bottle

So, I have pictures of my current bottles!
The green one is just an avocado oil bottle, nothing special. I'll be breaking this one.
The little blue one is a vintage Portuguese wine bottle, found during a recent grandfather visit. I't to cool to break, so I'm going to just drill a hole in the back to allow water to flow through.
