Quick question here and also to see how many others use this as a guage ..

I remember reading on one of the threads (and I could be mistaken), that Randy Holmes Farley said ...that when he has to start cleaning/scrubbing his glass and get rid of that algae build up, that is what he uses to guage his GFO being exported or "used up" and then changes it? ....

...basically a sign that PO4 may be creeping back up and time to change out the GFO. I also remember seeing int hat same thread that others went by this as well.

Any truth to this as I am dropping my PO4 and that seems like a great way to tell when it may be time to change out the GFO (as many a thread talks about how long GFO lasts and when to replace it)

Look forward to hearing who else does this

I used it as a gauge to clean my Hob refugium. Now I use it to know when to trim the chato in the sump.
