Glenn's Red Sea 170

Hello All,
I have decided to share with y'all my journey of my new tank build.
I suffered a work injury last year and I had to sell my tank (Red Sea Reefer 250). I was out of the hobby for approximately 8 months. I kept some of the equipment from the tank that I will be using for this build. Thankfully a friend offered to take care of my corals until I decided to get a new tank.
Feeling a bit better I decided to order a Red Sea reefer 170 (43 Gallons) from @MarineDepot, the tank is scheduled to arrive next Tuesday.
I will try to post on a regular basis, advices and constructive criticism is welcome.

Plans for the new build.

Fish Tank: Red Sea 170 w/ white cabinet. (New)
Lighting: Ecotech Marine Radion Gen 4 XR30. (From Previous Tank)
Return Pump: Ecotech Marine Vectra S1.(New)
Skimmer: Nyos Quantum 120.(New)
Controller: Apex Wifi version.(From Previous Tank)
Water Movement: (2) MP10's.(New)
Dosing: (2) Apex DOS (New)

First package was delivered today.
Skimmer and return pump.
Tomorrow I will be driving to LA to pick up some rock.

Road trip to LA, we stopped at LAX Aquariums to pick up some real reef rock and sand.
My wife took a couple of pics, unfortunately i forgot my camera with the gel filters so i was unable to take pics of their corals.

I’m still waiting for the fishtank to be delivered. But for now Everything is ready:
50gallons of fresh sea water.
And the glue on the aquascape seems to be dry.

I do, they are kinda pricey but in my opinion they are one of the best tanks. In addition Red Sea customer service is awesome. I have no complaints with my previous Red Sea tanks and i don’t think I’ll have any with this tank.

I just realized that I’m missing a pvc piece to connect the return hose to the vectra, gotta run to the LFS before they close!!

I did changed my aquascape to something more simple.

There’s nothing much going on right now. The tank has been cycling for 2 weeks now, i have been Dosing MicroBacter7 and I’m testing zeros already. (The tank might be ready for CUC and 1 fish) no plans on putting corals yet.
-I might stop to the fish store today and see what type of fish they have in stock.
-tomorrow i will be going to ikea to pick a cabinet that i will be using to put the apex, mp10 controllers, etc..

I received the last shipment today, Apex Dos and MP10

I also got a floating cabinet that will be used for cord/cables management, i will try to set everything up today and connect the Apex. This is coming together pretty fast and nicely [emoji51]. Last night i got a pair of clownfish I will update with pictures today or tomorrow.

Last night i was able to assembly the cabinet and i was able to paint and drill out the holes of what is going to be my apex mounting board.

Today i was able to put the cabinet together. Here is a preview of the finished product.

Cabinet is up on the wall.. i will try and set up the apex this weekend once i order CA,MG,KH.
I also need to buy a cable cover so i can hide the cables hanging out of the cabinet.
And i need to create a label tag for each item since I’m trying to make this as easy as possible in case of an emergency my wife knows what is what.

Update:
There’s nothing much going on with the tank, it has cycled completely. It has two clownfish and a cheap sps (my guinea pig) to see if my tank is ready for sps.
There are a few changes coming up.
The most important change is the light, i just ordered this beauty.

Another thing I’m exited about , is this sps i ordered and will receive it Monday.
