Glueing return line standpipe into bulkhead in overflow.

So plumbing my new 150. My bulkhead for my return is a 1.5” slip x slip. Should I glue the return line in or use a slip to thread adapter and screw the vertical pipe on place? Pros and cons of each??!

Ease of removal is something to consider in case you ever want to sell/relocate the tank. I had to glue mine because of the short section of pipe between the 90 and the bulkhead going into the tank but it I could do it all over again, I'd definitely do it differently.

I'd do the slip by thread since that should easily fit through the bulkhead hole down the road if need be.

Inside the overflow box I did not glue the return pipe into the bulkhead so I can remove it if maintenance requires.

Assuming this is an internal overflow (tank drilled on the bottom), for the side under the tank, use a threaded connection so you can fully remove the bulkhead if needed. I never glue the pipe inside the overflow box... even if there is initially a tiny leak (which would still fall through the bulkhead and subsequent pipe), gunk builds up fast and plugs it.

Is your tank drilled on the bottom or back?

Bottom drilled…internal overflow box. I never glue the drain lines, but not glueing the return line seems like a bad idea to me. Will probably just slap a slip to threaded adapter in there so I can screw it in.
