Hi all! Today I went to my local lfs and they had some pistol shrimp in stock. I was looking for one since my old one died and my pink spotted goby had some trouble maintaining his burrow.
So my lfs had these nice Alpheus ochrostriatus pair. That according to what I found would match with Cryptocentrus spp. I was not looking for 2 but why split them up if they are bonded, right?
When I put them in after acclimatization the female went right to the rocks and started digging in the old collapsed burrow, the male was not wanting to get out of the cup. When he finally did he went to a corner of the tank and got the interest of the goby. The goby attacked him and he became stressed, running around. After a couple of attacks he found another collapsed burrow and got away from him.
Is there anything that I can do to help them get along or are they just going to need to figure it out together?
