Hey everyone! Looking for some input on adding a second fish to my pico tank (2.5 gallon mixed reef tank). Currently I have a clown goby only and a bunch of coral and CUC. The goby is thriving and eats frozen food daily. I was thinking about adding a fire prawn goby in the future. Currently I’m actually dosing nitrate and don’t have any problems with nutrients building up. I do daily water changes to keep phosphates <0.1

Do goby’s usually get along? I’ve never had the clown goby with other fish so I’m not sure how it would be with a smaller goby. It’s a very small tank obviously but there are a lot of hiding places (about 5 lbs of live rock)

I have had multiple small gobys in a tank with no problems . But not such a small tank.

Ok thanks for the input! Yeah I don’t know of many other tanks this small. Might make the clown don’t more aggressive

I haven’t had those species. But for what it is worth I currently have a yellow watchman goby and a purple firefish goby in a 40 gallon tank…and they spend all day chilling within 3 inches of each other.

Would not worry about mixing them. Both small and peaceful. FPG is a lurker, Clown Goby a percher. Should have no reason to have issues. Probably rarely interact, even in that small of a tank.

Thanks! I might give it a shot then if I can find one!
