I'm thinking of getting a golden baslet assessor and was wondering if anyone has any experience with these guys. I had a purple baslet that was a real pia.

The golden assessor is listed as peaceful and the purple and others are listed as semi aggressive just wondering if the golden a really are peaceful I guess.

Appreciate any help anyone may have

Beautiful fish! Don't have any experience with it though.

They are very pretty but most basslets I'm aware of our semi aggressive so I'm hoping someone has owned one and can tell about there experiencesp

Cryptic does mean hides a lot, but mine, as well as the others I have seen become outgoing quite quickly. Mine is always out in the open and I have a lot of active fish.

They are an extremely peaceful fish. They can even be kept with other assessors.

Love mine! He was super shu at first, to the point I wondered if he died. After awhile he started staying out all the tmw, swimming upside down and stuff. Really really cool fish. Not likely to bully anything but others of it's kind
Honestly it's most likely to get bullied than it is to be the bully

I have had a trio for almost 2 years and they do just fine. The only aggression was when they were pairing.

Mine is really cool. He is not aggressive in the slightest towards anything in the tank. Likes to hang out in the current and swim sideways or even upside down. He changes color with emotion, sometimes completely yellow, but sometimes his head gets blue. Great fish for a small aquarium! Seems very hardy to me.

You guys feeding flake foods or like meaty foods
I feed frozen brine, mysis or LRS Reef Frenzy. He goes crazy for all of them, have never really tried flake.

I feed mysis, spirulina brine, reef plankton, new life pellets and flakes. He eats them all.

Also make sure you get an ORA one and not a wild caught one.

Yep! plus they typically cost 1/2 as much as the wild caught ones

I dunno, I have found the wild ones are hardier than the captive bred ones.
