Got it mounted up. Pretty happy with it. I think the cheapo hanging ropes and pullys are kind of ugly so I'm looking at getting some wire rope and rig up a more clean looking solution. But this is definitely a step in the right direction. I also added some angle brackets on the feet of the rail to clamp down on the frame of the tank so it would be much harder to accidentally knock it off.

Nice, is your actual light on in those photos or is it the one attached underneath?

So my clean chaeto came in from algae barn today. Was excited to see what it does to my nutrient levels but it soon fell to pieces.

That’s disappointing. Maybe you can gather it together and put a rubber band around it to hold to together until it takes hold.

Good idea, I'll try that. Do you think I should complain to algae barn?

Been giving some chaeto another try, this time with a better light. I added the rubber band a lot sooner this time but it still looks like it's just dying off. I decided to get some GFO to lower my po4 and try it mixed with carbon in a couple bags stuffed into the bubble trap before I buy a reactor.

Also have some babies on the way in the frag tank!

But I've also got Bryopsis in both tanks...

I've already dosed the frag system with Fluconizole and I've got more on the way for the DT.

I still had both my Banggais, one in my DT and one in the QT. They were both looking quite depressed and just staring at the wall or feeling around the corners trying to find a way out. So I ended up putting the suspected male in my DT with the other one. And thankfully they seem to have paired up. When I put him in the big female came over and they both were acting like little puppies excited to see their master. Doing circles and darting around. I wasn't 100% sure if it was aggressive posturing or what but I thought it just looked like excitement. Then the next few days I closely watched them and they didn't leave each others sides for very long and their moods have completely changed. They are much more active and seem content. Today I observed the shaking on one side then the other mating dance. I don't think I'd be seeing that if they were two males!
