Goniopora open but not extended

Is my Duncan causing my goniopora not wanting to extend ?

I have Duncan and many gonis. They don't play nicely together. I would keep at least couple of inches separation. Hard to tell from your pic if they are really that close or maybe offset more than it looks.

However for yours specifically, there are many reasons a temperamental goni will look like that. Hard to know for sure if it is the Duncan, especially since the goni is symmetric (i.e. it is not only retracted on the side towards the Duncan).
