So, have a fast growing "volunteer" goni which is already too close to a big frogspawn. Any bets/experience how this will resolve? Normally, I trim gonis when they get too big, but this one will be hard to reach.

That's what I am hoping. Thought goni's were pretty benign until one ambushed a trachy.
Gonis can be quite aggressive. It's hard to call a winner, if it was a torch I call it for the torch but most frogs and hammers I've owned while aggressive weren't any worse (or better depending on your point of view) than a goni.
