Hello all and thank you for the help in advance. I’m sure this colony is already too far gone but I wanted to ask to find the cause of why my Gonipora decided to die randomly.

This goni colony I have has always been happy in its spot and would extend many inches and even my clowns would host it. but then suddenly 3 days ago I saw it wasn’t opening, I gave it till today to open and when it didn’t I decided to take it out of the water and examine it. Looks like it’s melting away and parts of the skeleton have turned brownish or it could have been brown from before as i have never actually examined the skeleton before today. I will put a before and after pic so everyone can see. As I was taking it out of the water pieces of it basically just came off without any effort. It’s was a beautiful piece but I’m not heartbroken over it and would much rather get some help to why this happened so the rest of my tank doesn’t share the same fate

Parameters: I monitor with a trident so everything is usually pretty stable
Alk 8.5
Ca 450
mag 1380
Ph 8.1-8.3
Nitrate 8- 13
Phosphate .1 ( hovers around here)

I dose Red Sea AB+ 2 times a week and phyto every second day. Never really had a problem in my 2 years until today

I would stop dosing the ab+, unless your nutrients are low.

Such a rapid decline and the brown color looks like bacteria. I would do a prolonged dip in Cipro or kungfu dip or something like cyano treatment (antibiotic) If you don't have any of those things then iodine in brown tinted water.. like a weak tea color. Swoosh it around, swirl it periodically and give it about an hour...
