Well you did it all wrong by not having it stocked and running before she saw it. Now it is beg for mercy. Buy her something nice and allow her a corner of the tank for corals of her choice.
 
Tell her this:
"It might seem big now because you are not used to it. After a while you will feel like it is a bit small."
 
Get her on YouTube and show her your size reef tank and what it can be but if you only have the tank don't tell her the cost for the rest lol.

Now this one sounds really bad hahaha

The nice thing for me is the front living room is my office where the tanks are. But even though they are my tanks I still make sure to involve the wife and she even has her own fish and coral.
