I volunteer at an aquarium at my college and our tropical tank has a moorish idol. This fish eats like a pig and readily eats nori sheets, mussels, and shrimp. I know that these fish have a reputation for being difficult to feed. Is this fish just a fluke or has anyone else had seen a moorish idol that eats this readily?

They are hit and miss. I would advise anyone who wants one to make sure it is eating BEFORE bringing it home....
I dont call the shots when it comes to adding fish where I work, but im guessing the person in charge made sure of that. Honestly it seems like a "difficult" species of fish are far easier to keep if you have a healthy specimen.
