Good Morning and welcome to the “Good Morning Family”!Good morning everyone hope you and your families had a wonderful Christmas! :) I have a small question about coraline algae. My tank is 11 months old and starting to have purple all over the rocks is there some way to identify what it is. I wanted to make sure it’s not Cyano and is truly Coraline Algae. Sorry if I’m not supposed to post this here. Any help is greatly appreciated. Safe holidays everyone and thanks again.

Other than the local part, that's how I roll. I don't need nor want a 100 corral. I haven't spent more than 35 bucks on any of my frags. The ones you got all look awesome.
it's getting harder and harder to stay with the under $50 rule I have. I've got a few I've paid more for, but they were all large pieces at pre pandemic pricing. according to prices I see posted, my rastas, scrambled egg & midas colonies are better than $300/400 each. :rolleyes:Other than the local part, that's how I roll. why ya think people will be leaving the hobby?I honestly believe once all of this dies down and we get back to normal we will see a huge amount of people leaving the hobby pretty quickly. This will hopefully result in a lot of great deals on almost new equipment and livestock. This should cause the price of corrals to come back down to earth as well. Sellers will have a huge inventory and very few people to sell them to. I just hope the online vendors can afford it. Record sales will quickly become next to nothing. I could be wrong. Just my humble opinion.
People will be able to go do things again. Right now people have more time on their hands. People are picking up new hobbies. They have the time to do it. I don't think we saw the reduction in reefers this past summer. People who would have left remained because they still had the time to take care of their tanks. When Spring of 22 rolls around, they will be able to attend all kinds of fun things with no restrictions. Hotels might be cheaper making travel easier and more affordable. We might see 2 years worth of people leaving the hobby at the same time. I could easily be wrong.why ya think people will be leaving the hobby?
The last projection I saw was late June, early July. I think life will begin to get back to normal, but will take a bit. Before you know it's winter again and people stay in the hobby thru the winter due to having the time. Then it will warm up and everyone will want to be outside after a brutal 2 years. i think the hobby will stabilize again in 23.i do agree lot less left this summer,i avidly look for that every year ,bikes, boats,eh sell the tank, was next to none,
i just hope your wrong on 22 ..hope this is gone lot sooner than that!!
Sounds good to me. I want an upgrade for my tank and maybe some lights. I could be wrong, but time will tell. If something doesn't give soon we could see a lot of people having to quit the hobby. I'd rather have food and a place to live personally over a tank.I got first dibs on livestock from quitters. :D
lick the glass. :pi do agree lot less left this summer,i avidly look for that every year ,bikes, boats,eh sell the tank, was next to none,
