Good Morning!

I was doing my one year stint at college in '78. Northern Michigan U in Marquette.
that was the year of "The Big Blizzard". record snowfall. I think it was 378" for the season.
from what I remember, and it's sketchy as a lot of brain cells were lost that year and more in the following years,
they would plow the streets until the snow was about 8' high curb side. I believe it was curbside because I have some memory of my buddy using it as a bumper/rough locator, with his Ford Pinto, on our ride back to the dorm after closing the bar.
they would plow the softball fields at the park. load the 8' snow bank in to dump trucks and dump it at the ball field.

I also remember the campus creating 8/10' snow piles at the corners of the dorms. of course this lead to us students using the 3rd floor corner dorm windows to jump out of in to said snow pile.

don't know if I would have survived a full 4 years.
The city owns and old airport, 80 acres, where the pile the snow from town. Two years ago the snow was around 30 feet tall spread out over 10 acres. We had 12 feet that year. That was also the last year of the snowmobile expo. They made a track out there and I got to see a guy do back flips in a side by side. One of the first people to do flips on a sled was there. Those people are crazy.

Morning Friends!
Well, I have to make the trip into the “big city” (Dickson TN) today.
Trying to get my Wife a gift certificate for a Spa Day. I was going to get it yesterday but when I looked at their website, they are closed on Sundays and Mondays!
They have a really nice “package” deal. Four hour pampering which includes a massage, hot rock treatment, facial, mud bath and time in a sauna. Even a “gourmet “ lunch is included. She deserves a day at the spa.
On another note, I seeded my tank with Tisbe Pods last weekend (10 days ago) and my six lined Wrasse is now morbidly obese! He normally goes to his cave at night and sleeps in his slime bubble but I think
he’s “pulling the all nighter” and stuffing his face after lights out.
Have a great day my Fellow Reefers!
Stay Safe, Healthy and Happy!

I am taking my wife to a driving school today. She can drive fine, this is a handicapped driving school and they teach her to drive without using her right leg, which she can't move due to MS.
I ordered her a new car and I want her to use it safely. :)

Happy New Year.

Good morning everyone! It's nice when everyone in the family helps take down the decorations after Christmas!

Michigan has 10 months of winter and 2 months of bad sledding.

We've made it pretty clear that we don't count very well here in Florida - some people consider it one season (endless summer), others consider it two (dry season and hurricane season), still others consider it three seasons (if you count strawberry growing seasons), and the closest that we come to four seasons is a hotel in Palm Beach and Miami.

I remeber that blizzard well. We made a snowman in my grandparents yard that was taller then the house. Dug out the inside of it and made an igloo fort that lasted weeks. Had tunnels running everywhere in the yard. Was a great time as a kid!

Good afternoon
Is it sad when I miss being alone here so I can do what I want or nothing if I want to?
Jills dad is of the pre electronic era so if you are using a computer to find something or amuse yourself you are wasting your life. I have to feed him and keep the pets in line though I admit we do have a lot of them. They do not understand when some rules are changed and it makes them upset and often has the opposite effect of what you intended to happen.
I haven't cleaned the tanks well in a month. They seem fine but are hard to see into. Earnest used to keep fish and asked me if that was a piranha in my tank and then explained to me how dangerous lion fish are. He doesn't like cats so Louie has taken a special interest in him and waits outside the door to his bedroom so he can examine all of the things and get in his bags.
