Good Morning!

Good Morning Reefies! Happy Tuesday!!
@sp1187 Thanks for reminding me, I have corals coming Friday. I still need to change those socks.
To clear the air ... someone labeled me a cat hater last night. While I get that was a joke, I do want to say that no - I do not hate cats. I do have a healthy fear of them. I have been bitten and scratched by cats on multiple occasions. I generally believe that cats know that I am team dog thus they exact their revenge accordingly. I recognize that they are cute, have sandpaper tongues and they are every bit as important to their fur parents as dogs are. I simply keep my safe distance. I do not want anyone to be offended in the misbelief that I hate cats. With all of the passing and illnesses happening to our furbabies of late, that would be very insensitive. I have nothing against your cat, just please do not ask me to pet it.
Have a great Tuesday .... hang in... tomorrow is Hump Day!

my favorite cats are the ones that think they are dogs

We used to have a husky that could ALWAYS sense if someone was afraid of them. She would run around them in tight circles as fast as she could. She would never growl or bark, just terrify. It got embarrassing sometimes.
She died when she was 17. It was only when my daughter was going into college that she had been with us longer than the dog.
Wow, you were very fortunate to have her for 17 years! I grew up with a Doberman, who knew immediately when someone was scared of her (which was generally everybody). I had a friend over one day and he decided to go out the sliding glass door for some reason. I wondered where he went, then I saw her barking up a tree. Yep, there he was, up the tree! ;Hilarious

I just saw this guy peeking out of a hole in the live rock. Probably a few inches long. Hopefully I don't end up with a hundred bristle worms wandering around.

I pluck those suckers whenever I see one.

$500 to the first person who can pluck that out. ;) The second the tool touched the water's surface it was gone. That thing is fast!
Oh honey, my red hair is where my horns used to be. I will go Sam L. when I find one. I have pulled out whole rocks and blasted hot water into holes to force a sucker out. Do I kill all the beneficial bacteria in the rock? Probably .... but I got the worm!

@danieyella
wanna make an easy $500?
that would be nice for the next live sale.

started my tank 08/18. haven't seen any population explosion.
and i'm always checking the tank with lights out. i have quite a few sun corals and chili corals that are predominately lights out/polyps open corals.

Good morning! The video really helped on the Hanna calcium checker, but my readings are all over the map compared with my Salifert tests. I also tested with RO/DI water and distilled and had quite a variation in readings. I know my filters need to be changed, so that could explain the variation between the distilled and my RO water. Hanna recommends using distilled, and the guy in the video recommends distilled from CVS. Huh?? Does CVS have magic distilled water? I just happened to have some distilled water on hand (not CVS).

Here are the readings: Salifert test kit 450, Hanna using my RO water 429, Hanna using distilled 489. Huh??? I'm sure there could be some learning curve involved here, but I feel like I was doing the Hanna tests correctly according to both the instructions and the video. If I feel like it, I might make a trip to CVS to get their magic distilled water. I also will plan to change my RO filters this Friday and see what a difference that makes.

Have a great day!

Good morning
If the Earth moves faster wont we fall off? Careful what you wish for.
I have some things working at cross purposes on my system. The ozone got turned off. The NoPox got turned down.
I really hope I don't create a disaster but something has to give to move forward.
I will probably pick up a Wyse plug for the ozone so I can run it an hour every other day for water clarity. My other option would be to just run it at 20% 2 hours a day.

Took the old cat Mocha to the vet. He is down to 10 pounds. He was 15 in his prime. They did blood work but said he was in good condition for his age.

I can lure mine out with a piece of food and snag them with a long handle scrapper. I should do that, make a video on how to catch a bristle worm....

I think they learn if they are threatened, mine are pretty lazy..

I don't care about people's feelings. I hate cats. They are evil manipulating monsters who act all cute and cuddly to get you to pet them. And just as you do. BAM teeth and all 4 set of claws right on you! (my old Siamese cat Ryoki) She was with us for 15 yrs before she passed. Evil monster. I still miss her.

I also hate when people try to force someone to interact with their pets.
I am in such an opposite situation. My pets have all been protective and do not want to be pet. They want to investigate but not interact. I tell people this and they don't believe me. My old diseased cat was a prime example. I told them "hands off, she's the devil" I even told my vet that. No one believed me until they put their hands close to her.
Sunny my Doberman wants nothing to do with strangers. She keeps close to my young one. And body blocks anyone trying to go near him. My inlaws get nipped for not listening to her. At least she's nicer than my cat.

Good morning, extra long post. It's always a fun conversation though~!

Bristle worms are great as long as they are not the predator type.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
P.S. my husband says I snore at night :(
