Good Morning!

Honestly if you look at some of my older threads I was having some trouble with my parameters. I'm waiting to get everything situated and stable before I make a tank thread incase someone new to the hobby ends up finding it they don't make the same mistakes I did.
that is the whole idea of a build thread, the trails and errors ,and success... :)
he said "trouble with my parameters."
fishdude..... what does that even mean?;)

I think I might start a build thread this week in that case. After I get all my coral I'll get one posted. :D

There are a lot of people who can spot "trouble". A build thread will will help them diagnose a situation better. It makes it easier for them to follow. If you are interested in things like that.

I am probably testing more than both of you combined atm. Keeping watch on alk and ph while attempting to raise to 9. 8.4 dhk and actually 8.15 ph today. I think we are okay! Corals look good, the new acro may need more water flow. I do have a small wave maker in storage. I wonder if 1 would be enough though? I worry abou the bta wanting to float off into power heads and over flow teeth...

I dunno, i did 5 tests yesterday working at 8.0 dhk. 3 more this morning to get to 8.4 dhk, and several rounds of ph (almost out). I need to make a reef pi monitor to hook up the seneye to take out that part. It can be done, but it is making a station.

Edit: DKH.... I gotta get my things right... Ohh I need pics of the new croissants!

hey, test that PH ,same time of day, every time you test,as constantly rises and falls.

I think I did a pH test once this year. I do not find it to be a good indicator of anything so I do not bother.
pH is a derivative of several things going on in the tank. If you are going to do those tests anyway why bother with it?
I would never dose anything to just change the pH.

Oh, I know. Morning before lights on, afternoon bed time. I believe the fuge lights on at night keep the ph from going under 8.0. I'll test tonight and see and morning again to make sure. We'll see what 8.4 alk does.

I am also not good at rolling out croissants.
I am also checking to see if these will make descent apple turnovers. ;)

No, not changing the ph. But, adding soda ash does alter ph at some degree. My dkh dropped to 7.8, having a new acro. I would kind of like to work on getting to 9.0 dkh and get some AFR once my parameters are dialed in. I am raising the dkh slowly to make sure my hammers and other lps don't over react. I had an old reef at 480 calcium - 11 dkh. Could not keep hammers alive, but I could frogspawn.

I need a new ph test anyhow. It is almost a year old and I don't think I trust the bottle after a year being open. No reference test

Perfect future Xmas present
