Good or bad ?

So this crab showed up in my tank about three months ago. Not knowing what kind it was I just put him in my sump. He has grown to about 2 inches wide 4 inches of claws are out. Can any one tell me about it ?

It could be a red emerald crab. If so, semi reef-safe - just in 'sports car red' as opposed to emerald green. If so - good score: the red ones aren't as common.

Looks like an algae eater.
Claws are flat, not pointy.

Think it’s a red mithrax which is red version of emerald. Should be OK. I have a bunch in mine and seem to be interested in algae. The claws are like little scoops which allow them to easily scrape it off the rocks.

Thank you for the responses. I was thinking that’s what it was but with a 350 mixed reef I was not chancing it.
