I was in ATL for a concert Monday night and ended up going to check out SEA Aquariums show room. They had just opened when I got there so no one was there but Heather and I. As soon as you walk in you see 2 huge show tanks. On the left is a 8-10 foot long tank filled with a school of "lookdowns" And on the right is a 600 gallon reef tank with a nice plush couch to sit on in front of it. The first thing I thought was how clean the store was, and then the guy came out apologizing for the mess.

In a matter of a couple of minutes of chatting we were in the back, and I was being shown the ins and outs. All I can say is wow. These guys manufacture all of their tanks and equipment, and you wouldn't believe the setups on these systems. The retail store just opened back in September, but they have a huge maintenance business as well. Now mind you, it is mostly all very high end stuff, but at the same time the quality was outstanding. I have never seen sump designs so well thought out. And the media reactors and Cal. Rx were amazing as well. They had a pair of tangerine clowns for a cool thousand available. I decided I would wait:squigglemouth:

Have any of you guys heard of or had any of their stuff?

No I didn't miss them, but honestly wasn't all that impressed. I understand that rare means rare, and I'm glad that the guy who collected them was able to breed them successfully, but like I said, they were just okay. IMO there are much more beautiful fish out there.

That's the first I've heard of successful breeding! Hopefully that means well see more in the hobby one day. I for one would do terrible things for those clowns =)

well from what I was told, the original collector was able to collect 20 of them, and that he was able to breed them. And the 2 they have at the store are from his efforts.

Nice one of these days I'll build a fishroom. But most won't be as awesome as that.
Thanks for sharing.
