Wow you have some awesome zoas!

Thanks!

Wow that's awesome looking. I'm starting a 29g zoa garden and hoping it'll get to look like yours

Thanks! Cool on the new tank..start a thread when you do :)

Sweet setup! Nice pics and love the display of colors.

Thanks!

Can't tell exactly from pic, but looks like either sponge or closed briarium (is a form of star polyps when open, generally in higher flow).

I figured it was a sponge since it hasn't done much.

Wow, everything looks like it's growing great!

Thanks! I love your collection as well :p

Wow!!! Looks awesome!!!

Thanks!!

I got this cool macro hitchiker from the Indo-Pacific...it came on a rock with some orange Yumas. I saw it and told the LFS guy to snip the entire rock since it was rooted on.
Izza purdy macroalgae that I have never seen...and I have seen a lot of macroalgae

I decided go go bare bottom. I started getting GHA and a funny brown film from the sand bed being covered. I used Krylon spray paint in a sand color and gritty to paint the bottom.

Nice tank! I just tried the DRSFS HOB filter with surface skimmer to help with my 40Br surface scum problem, unfortunately it didn't really do the job. How has it worked out for you??

That looks great. i was pondering the same thing about getting starboard to make the tank have a bottom. Had a friend tell me that he painted his bottom black and he's seen a couple of white/sand looking bottom that were awesome. Needless to say just painted my bottom whiteish to appear as sand. Hopefully mine will have as much color.

I think you will get the same look if you had used starboard, I have used black paint before as well but it is hard to keep it looking clean.

Very nice I love the zoas and palys. Can you explain a little more in detail how you painted and textured the bottom. Did you just use the krylon in a white tan color and sprinkle sand before it was dry? Did you do a clear coat? Sorry if I missed this but its a really nice way of doing it if you do want a barebottom tank.
