you realize it does effect their health care and the type of regulations their insurance providers follow, they dont use the exchanges because they ALREADY have health care. how is this hard to comprehend. it's not a standardized health care policy for all, it affects how the system is run in an efforct to curtail costs and keep premiums low. i'm afraid what we have here is a failure for most of you who have disagreements with the law to fundamentally grasp what the law entails and how it functions.

Since I've seen it mentioned a couple of times, I wanted to point out that Congress and all those it employs have to get their insurance from the exchanges just like the uninsured will have to. They are currently fighting over how much of the premiums they will pay. Right now the percentage they are paying for the federal plan will be all they pay for the insurance they get from the exchange. So if they currently are paying 10% of the cost for the federal insurance, when they move to the exchange insurance they will only pay 10% of the premium.

so it wasn't lehman brothers and goldman sachs? selling mortaged backed securities? yes, i never said those gov't industries werent involved but they certainly werent the root cause nor the only cause. DERegulation was the problem, replealing of glass-steagall helped lead to the collapse as well. deregulation, and banks selling those types of no-win futures led to the collapse. not too much regulation.

Then why in the hell does my insurance cost keep going up? My wife firm went to the high yield plan this year and that's all they are offering. Other company are cutting there workers to part time so they will not be fined.

My problem is, there should not be any finds if you chose not to enroll in a heath care plan. Just another freedom Obama has taken away.

it was forced deregulation by government forcing banks to make bad loans.

clearly you dont understand, because that in itself would not have caused the collapse we saw. it was also dishonest trading and plethora of other things that led to it. oh yeah, and your table...very scientific. lol. not.

Come on guys, this crap needs to stop. The people that think Obama is God and Drinks his Kool-aid will keep drinking and the ones that think the tea-party is god will keep drinking their tea. Lets get this forum back to talking about Salt and let the government EDITED ride in a different forum.

yes Cory, you're absolutely right. 6 of us don't understand anything and you're the almighty king of knowledge...instead of saying things like " i'm afraid what we have here is a failure for most of you who have disagreements with the law to fundamentally grasp what the law entails and how it functions." and "clearly you dont understand" maybe, just maybe, YOU are the one that doesn't quite comprehend or realize that you're just one of many millions to be brainwashed into thinking that our goverment is good and for the people while those of us that question their motives are just tin foil hat wearing skeptics. Sorry but you need to get a clue fellow reef brother. As Ghill clearly debunked your rebuttal about how the housing market crashed and who was behind it, you just can't admit that you're in the wrong. Look behind the curtain and see who is behind all of this and then enjoy being enlightened. Until then, you're fighting a losing battle of semantics.

So true. You want to see 2 friends go at it, just have them talk politics. I've seen some very nasty fights in another forum that I'm on. They have a special politics section and every post ends up a bashing of dems or republicans. Apparenlty no one can have views from both sides, you are labeled one or the other.

I think we should abolish the party system and make everybody an independent with their own minds to make up. They would also be compelled to live by all decisions they expect us to live by and they should have term limits. I also think things like Obamacare and other such things should be voted on by the general population, not a bunch of stiffs who just want to get reelected. There should be voting booths available in schools all the time for when these things come up. If the Americans vote for it, so be it. If they don't, throw it out, no questions asked. Voting for the President should be a popular vote and not a stupid electorial vote. And last but not least I believe the President should have had spent time in the Military. If he wants to run it, he should have some experience defending this country.

as Paul and Neon have said, the two party system sucks, we were warned by the founders. both parties are to blame and I hold no loyalties to either. I consider myself a libertarian/limited government person.. that said I'm more likely to vote conservative than liberal in almost every case.

oh geez, not another sheep..

hope you realize you're a huge part of the problem.

did no one take psychology courses in college?

When trying to keep millions of people divided, have them fight for one of two majority sides. Proctor and Gamble are experts in this by owning competing brands in pet food...They own both and brain wash people into putting their loyalty into one or the other...meanwhile it's P&G that are laughing all the way to the bank.

The government is no different...they started the game. Use tools to place their loyalty in one of the two major parties and watch them fight each other while the goverment sits back and points and laughs at you because you (democrats and replublicans) remain divided.

Wake up people.

Thank you for somebody finaly replying that has a clue. I applaud you.

LOL!! Okay, you guys took my post way too seriously.

Having said that, I happen to agree with you! :D Partisanship has been taken to a whole new level of incredulity. Just because you are Republican or Democrat does not mean you have to think and act Republican or Democrat. Whatever happened to think and act for yourself? Or, more importantly, think and act for the people you represent as a Senator or Congressman, or as President? To get back on topic using this analogy, take a look at Obamacare and the government shutdown. If you look at all the surveys as of September 31 2013, to include those sponsored by liberal and conservative groups, only 31%-45% of Americans support Obamacare. Yet a lot of our elected politicians have shut down the government over it. For those asking for statistics, here it is: RealClearPolitics - Election Other - Public Approval of Health Care Law So, take away partisanship from my argument. I blame the government shutdown and the mess we are all in on Obama, Reid, and all the other elected officials who would shut down our government for something a third to less than half of Americans support. Who are these people representing? Certainly not America.

That serious enough or unsheep like for you? :D

the pratical effect of the government shutdown

On the way into work today (at redstone aresenal) I saw the effect of the government shutdown.

the new addition of the redstone rocket newspaper was a notice that it would cease publication until further notice because of the government shutdown.

Not to change the subject completely, but isn't this obamacare just a distraction from the real problem; the American debt ceiling? They're going to increase it even more. I guess the solution to maxed out credit cards is to incrase the maximum regardless of the income.

You ask American people if they support obamacare and they are more than likely against it yet call it health care reform or by
It's true name and people overwhelmingly support it. It's like talking to a wall with tea party types. If you don't want to follow the laws your elected representives enact then go find a new country. Like Iran, the religious backed extremist govt it seems most teapublicans want. Don't you think Jesus would be in favor of affordable health care instead of for tax breaks for wealthy corporations?

I don't know Cory, maybe Ask Obama what his son thinks of it and we will know what Jesus thinks about it..

Now I lay me down to sleep pray Obama my sole to keep.
