Gramma Spitting food out

I just picked up a royal gramma yesterday. I fed it brine shrimp today and he seemed to be taking the food in his mouth then spitting it out. I watched it feed like this for ten minutesIt was taking interest in the food for the entire time it was in the water column, but never ate a shrimp.

Is it just eating pieces or not interested?

I will try Rods food tomorrow.

Mine did the same thing when I first got him. After a couple days he stopped spitting the food out. I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

Agreed. He will stop this very quickly.
