I'm not a nem expert by any means, so hopefully someone can tell if I'm way off base, but might it possibly be a Telmatactis sp. such as Telmatactis ternatana, T. decora, or T. panamensis?

I do see the resemblance with the stripes on the tentacles and the coloration around the mouth…I’m not familiar with this species of anemone, but if I had to make a call, I’d say probably not l, because I don’t see the ball on the tips of the tentacles.

I watched it close. A flash and gone. 1st time I saw it
Definitely not a ball anemone. It doesn’t have the ball on the tips of the tentacles. Do you have Florida live rock? If not, any other clues on the possible origin of the anemone?
Could be a majano or aptasia (though it doesn’t look like aptasia from what I can see).

I'm thinking it's more a tide pool nem. The fast retraction is what you see when you touch a nem in a tide pool.

A lot of anemones retract quickly. Tide pool nems are typically cooler water anemones….is there a way something like that would have made its way into your tank? Do you have any Florida live rock?
