Hey all,

My bta moved upside down and hangs under this rock. Still gets flow, feeding is hard because shrimp are stealing from it when mysis land in it and it wont take it fast enough and to tweezer shrimp in there would be nearly impossible. It went there right after it last had a piece of shrimp 2 days ago.

I guess ny question is... how long till i force move it by flipping the rock or something to get it the light? Could it have moved due to too much light?

I know the next questions are gunna be params... but its not that and it looks nice and open and healthy with the clown still in it. Just want to know how long till it NEEDS the light. I dont want itnlosing its color.

Thanks

Welcome to anemone care. They are fickle creatures. Beautiful at times. But then wander. I suggest getting 10, so that you can enjoy the 4 that act as you want them to.
Move the rock if you can. I have often desired a curved pipette for just this type of feeding.
Good luck

Lol fair... i understand the 10 of them idea. I just wanted to ensure it didnt place itself in a bad spot and then not know how to get out of it. It always moves at night. Only moved on me twice.

Yes moving the rock is easy as there isnt anything else on it and it is a top rock not glued down yet for this reason.

Not home at the moment to send a pic... and amazingly i dont have a good pic of it at all lol.

There's a reason that clownfish and anemones are buddies. They both do stuff that seems to have no rhyme or reason to it. I personally wouldn't bother it. If it likes being under the rock and you flip it, it's just gonna go back under the rock.

Yeah makes total sense... will it still be able to absorb the light enough to not implode?

When I got my first BTA, it promptly moved itself into a spot like yours is in now - and stayed there for a couple of weeks until it decided to move to the opposite side of the tank.

When I had my tank up and running my BTA would go inside the cave for a few days, appear on the back of the tank, get bored, go back to the front of the tank. Welcome to the world of a BTA
