Tonight when I went to feed my fish I noticed that my green clown goby lost all its reddish stripes but a few on his head, his body is now as I type this all green. He's in my tank for over 2 years and nothing changed during this week. He's quite pretty like this but it's weird...

Did something change with your lights? That could affect what colors you see.
No, the lights are the same. I know that some fish can temporarily change colors for several reasons, but I never saw this one doing it.
Anything bothering it?
Not that I have noticed. When he's scared he immediately darts and hides for a while on a kenya or something but comes back quite quickly.
I didn't see him today yet but I actually didn't look for him, I forgot about it when I went to feed them in the morning.

Mine will go dark if stressed, hopefully it will be fine.

And... It's back to normal. Go figure.

Do you think this looks similar to what he was talking about
Your image matches the OP's description very well. I don't see any spots or film that suggests a disease, but lets call in for a second opinion(s) @Jay Hemdal @vetteguy53081

Fading colors are also seen in other fishes, perhaps due to stress response?

Yea it’s the first day he’s looked like that he’s acting normal also and no other fish would be stressing him out everything gets along and they are all friendly

I’m feeding now and he does seem more scared then usual he’s darting around a lot more then usual

It may remain faded until it feels comfortable . As long as it is eating it will likely be ok. I have a foxface that was discolored for years before it decided that I wasn't going to eat it and now it looks like a happy foxface should.

Hmm even if it’s not new he’s been in the tank for months now and everything else is very happy

Could it be sick ?
If so what can I do

Maybe my Seabae anemone stung him (I’m not sure just throwing things out)

Did it eat when you fed it?
Is it breathing faster than normal?
Any new additions to the tank?

Yes he’s eating
He does breath fast and I’ve noticed he’s always kinda been like that
No new addition other than then some hermit crabs and anemone

Could it have tangled with the anemone? What species is it?
