Hey folks, wondering if these green patches are consider coralline? They don't brush off and doesn't have a slimy texture. Tank is about 6 month old dealing with small residual Cyano. I don't believe its GHA, as there is two small spot outside of these green patches showing green fuzz that I could easily brush off.

Parameter is as follows:

ALK: 8.3
CAL: 420
Mag: 1305
NO3: under 25
PO4: .05

it seems to be normal algae growth on the rocks that are a sign of a healthy reef tank
how long has the tank been set up?
any closer photos?

If brushing with a toothbrush removes the coloration, then it’s not coralline. Coralline is hard and usually has to be scraped off.

But I’ve been told that coralline does come in green, so you never know.

After further research, i doubt this is green coralline. From what I'm reading, its a precursor before coralline start showing up.

i have the same thing in my tank, it’s a good indicator that coraline will eventually show itself, green coraline looks a bit diffrent!

Can you elaborate on what the precursor is? I also have hard green algae looking stuff in my tank that is only a few months old. Wondering if it’s a similar situation.
