Although I've lurked here, off and on, for several years, I finally joined around the beginning of this year, and have posted sporadically. I realized today that it is the fashion to put out a "hello" statement, so here it is: I've been keeping saltwater for 20-25 years with varying success, and currently have a pentagonal corner tank, about 50 gallons and another 20-30 in the sump. I keep live rock and live sand, and have a healthy population of limpets, bristle worms, and tube worms. I currently have no fish and have been pondering what to do next. I've had hard corals and anemones in the past, and all have done well until they didn't. I'd say my most enjoyable denizen was a clownfish with maroon and yellow colors (I've seen them variously called tomato or maroon, in any case, USC colors but I'm not necessarily a fan). It would eat from my fingers and nestle with the bubble tipped anemone, cute! Feel free to tell me what to do next; I'm in the Los Angeles area.

Welcome! Glad you joined R2R. There are way too many options to give you any realistic suggestions, but personally have found that corals aren't as forgiving to sporadic water parameter testing and dosing so perhaps that is what led to your earlier losses (sorry to hear - but CONGRATS on your BBA - Bounce Back Ability - great life skill and great for hobby!!) Mushrooms are more forgiving and my BF is going a little crazy on them right now, as a result...

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID). It will be interesting to see where you go
