Hi I recently decided to try out reef keeping as I already had a large RODI filter for my discus and other soft water fish. I’m starting out with a 40g Fowlr tank being used as a grow out for some baby green blue chromis, and a baby 1.5” bristletooth tang. I will be having a 6ftx2.5ftx2.5ft acrylic tank built by February. The 40g will then become the quarantine for the 280g tank.
I hope to learn a lot from this site as I’m new to the saltwater side of the hobby. Though it’s seeming about the same difficulty as the heavily planted side of the freshwater side of the hobby.
On a bit of a side note I’m very excited to try my hand at breeding some species of tangs as it seems very few have been bred in captivity. I’ve had a bit of a green thumb sort of for fish breeding, and usually never found it to be hard no matter the species.
