Hi everyone... I'm Tamryn. I am so excited to get into this amazing hobby and am currently in the saving and research stage. I have my heart set on the Red Sea Nano Max and am hoping to get mine in the next few months. I have slowly been collecting a few odds and ends like a refractometer. Next I am looking at test kits and cycling bacteria - what brand would you recommend for these?

Welcome Tamryn, glad you are here! I’ve never used bottled bacteria to cycle just live rock, so hopefully someone will chime in. I use Salifert test kits that are affordable. Many on here like Hanna, a little pricier.

welcome to R2R, slow and steady is best

Welcome to R2R and the salty world Tamryn. Take things slowly. Lots of knowledgeable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed. Hannah, Salifert, and Red Sea are all good test kits. Avoid API.
